Raising chickens is not only about cost, but also about technology. From chick to market, a complete breeding process is required. The survival rate and quality of chickens also directly affects the interests of farmers. We will introduce the steps of how to raise chickens below.

  • Site selection for the construction of chicken farm : The location of the chicken farm should be a site with high, dry and flat terrain, sufficient sunlight, good ventilation and drainage, which is conducive to the control of the internal and external environment of the chicken house. Chicken farms require sufficient water sources, good water quality, no bacteria and poisons in the water sources, no peculiar smell, fresh and transparent, and meet drinking water standards. Therefore, it is very important to have a set of large-scale high-quality water lines and feed lines.

  • Feed management and methods: It is necessary to strengthen feeding management, improve the disease resistance of chickens, increase protein, grain and green feed in the feed formula, reduce the content of energy feed, and diversify the feed; feeding chickens should be carried out in the morning when it is cool, and the amount of food given It should account for 50% of the daily amount; add some garlic and fine sand to the feed to strengthen the chicken body.

  • Chicken house management the feeder and drinker should be disinfected frequently, chicken lice should be eliminated, feces should be cleaned frequently, and quicklime or water should be sprinkled frequently to disinfect the chicken farm. Doing a good job in the hygiene of the environment and feeding utensils can prevent the spread of diseases, create a good  environment for chickens grows , and ensure stable and high yields. Improve the economic and social benefits of chicken farms. It can also prolong the service life of products such as feeder and drinker.

The cleaning and dareinfection of the chicken house are carried out in four steps: "one sweep, two flushes, three sprays and four empty houses".

1. The first step is "sweep". Thoroughly remove and clean up debris, chicken manure, cobwebs, feathers, etc. in the chicken coop.

2. the second step "two punch". Use a cleaner water pump or high-pressure pump to pump clean water, and thoroughly rinse the chicken house up and down, left and right (and walls, brick columns, windows, floors).

3. the third step "three sprays". Use a cleaner water pump to pump disinfectant water to thoroughly spray the chicken house up and down, left and right, until the water drops. Generally, at least 300 catties of water should be sprayed per 100 square meters of chicken house.

4. the fourth step "four empty houses". The chicken house should be left vacant for 3-5 days after spraying with disinfectant. After the chicken house  dries naturally, it should be sprayed with another disinfectant, or fumigated with potassium permanganate and formalin.

Note: If the house has bursal disease, spray 5% formalin (repeat step 3).

The general disinfection procedure of the chicken house is as follows: after cleaning the chicken manure, rinse it with water and dry it, sprinkle 2% to 3% caustic soda on the ground and 1m-high walls, rinse it with water, and then dry it. 1-2 days, spray with 0.3% disinfectant water, after 1-2 days spray with 0.1% diquaternary ammonium iodine (or 300kg 2.8 disinfectant mixed with water), and then spray with 20% quicklime water on the ground, 1m high wall 1- 2 days, and seedlings are introduced after after _ for|after _ for for 3-5 days.

Brood room disinfection

After the disinfection procedure specified in Article 1 is completed, before drying the house, fumigate with potassium permanganate formalin (formaldehyde):

1. Formalin: Potassium permanganate is 2:1.

2. Per cubic meter of space: 25 ml of formalin, 12.5 grams of potassium permanganate (calculation method of space cube: length * width * height, unit: meter).

3. Each brooding room has 2-3 porcelain bowls. Immediately after placing the potassium permanganate in the porcelain bowl, pour twice the amount of formalin.

4. Close the doors and windows of the brooding room tightly, and open the doors and windows for ventilation after 24 hours.

5. Matters needing attention

① The containers for containing formalin can only use porcelain bowls and earthenware bowls, not wooden or plastic products.

②When pouring the formalin, be careful to keep your head, face and hands away from the porcelain bowl as much as possible to prevent the liquid from being splashed and hurting people.

③ After the formalin is poured, people should leave the brooding room immediately and close the doors and windows.

④ The brooding room that has been fumigated and disinfected should be vacant for 2-3 days before entering the chicks.

  • Emphasis on prevention and light treatment: chicken diseases can be treated, but prevention should be the main priority, and do not wait for chickens to be ill before treatment. This is not only troublesome, but also increases the cost of feeding.

  • Chicken breeding environment: In rural areas, chickens can be exiled to grasslands (orchards, woodlands), where chickens can move freely and prey freely, which is in line with the natural growth of chickens . Free-range breeding not only reduces diseases, but the manure produced by chickens during the predation process is a very good organic fertilizer.

cooling pad

  • To adjust the fan wet curtain: In some areas in summer, the temperature difference between day and night is too large or the weather is volatile. During this period, a combination of horizontal ventilation and vertical ventilation should be used for mixed ventilation, which is convenient to ensure that the temperature of the chicken house does not change too quickly. When the fan in the house reaches half of all fans, the mixed ventilation should be changed to longitudinal ventilation. When longitudinal ventilation is used, all side wall vents must be closed. When the fan in the house can be turned on 1 or 2, cross ventilation can be used. The opening and closing of the cooling pads should also be coordinated with the fan. When the temperature rises, ventilation volume and wind speed should be increased first. At this time, the temperature of the chicken house should be observed. When the temperature continues to rise (such as 30 °c), the cooling pads will be opened again. , the wet curtain should be gradually opened. If the cooling pads circulating water heat up due to the heat exchange with the dry and hot air from outside, the cooling effect will be greatly reduced. This is mostly because the underground water storage wells (pools) are too shallow and the capacity is not large. To solve the secondary problem, two parallel water storage wells (pools) can be designed to be used alternately, and a shading net should be added above the water wells (pools). In hot and humid seasons, you can add ice cubes to the pool to lower the water temperature. On the contrary, when the temperature drops (such as 27°c), the cooling pads should be closed first, and then the number of fans should be gradually reduced. Also pay attention to the timing of switching between vertical, horizontal and mixed ventilation modes. If these switching processes are not well mastered, it will cause  temperature change badly in the chicken house and affect the chickens.

In addition to scientific guidance, farmers should strengthen their own learning. It is necessary to read books and newspapers about scientific breeding and breeding information, and apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned to production practice, and constantly explore and summer to improve|summaries to improve the summarized breeding skills. Only in this way can we become scientific learning talents and make our career better and better.
